We love to see the creativity our campers show in making delicious food while cooking outdoors. One of the easiest things to make is the recent trend of foil wrapped packets that can be cooked on the grill over in the campfire.
We found some interesting recipes on Pinterest and thought we’d share them here.
The Breakfast Burrito
These would make for a nice, hearty breakfast and save you from washing dishes. They have all the best breakfast ingredients such as eggs, cheese, ham, green chile, and taco seasoning. Though they could be made without the mexican flavoring. They’d be great even if you kept them simple. They’re just right for a grab and go breakfast as the family goes in opposite directions to begin their day of fun in the campground.
Cheesy Fries
These are easy and can be made with frozen french fries, some cheese, butter, bacon bits, and maybe a little green onion. They cook in as little as 20 minutes and you know the kids will dig right in.
Beef, Carrot & Potato Foil Packs
These qualify as a Hobo Dinner and are kind of like a little roast beef dinner in individual servings. They’ll be just the ticket when you’re getting tired of burgers and hotdogs. They don’t take long and they would make a nice grown-up meal during your stay.
Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches
These look delish! You start with a loaf of french bread and build it from there. Add sliced roast beef, onion and pepper, and a little bit of garlic butter. Your neighbors will show up when they smell these cooking on the grill.
Let us know if you try any of these recipes. We’d love to hear which ones you preferred. We can’t wait to see you again next year and see the creations you make for dinner.
